Ian McGowan is a highly successful artist-illustrator supplying artwork for books, magazines, greeting cards and product advertising. His traditional watercolour style evokes a vision of motor sport’s golden age of legendary marques, endurance trials and great road races. Ian’s painting draws on his first-hand experience as a racing mechanic and Morgan enthusiast and seeks to express the power, speed and allure of thoroughbred sports racing cars. In a similar way, his aviation art expresses the romance of WW2 fighter aircraft, notably the Spitfires and Hurricanes of the Battle of Britain era.
