In one of the most exciting events in Le Mans history, the 1969 24 hour race was won by Jackie Ickx driving the Gulf liveried No 6 Ford GT40 Mk1, the same chassis that had won the previous 1968 Le Mans 24 hour. Jackie won by just 120 metres, having battled to stay ahead of the Porsche 908. This was the last GT40 to win LeMans, and from 1970 onwards the regulations changed, abandoning the infamous “Le Mans’ style start.
This print depicts the winning car, chassis number GT40P/1046, featuring a 7.0 litre V8 which enabled an average race speed of nearly 130mph over 24 hours. The Gulf Racing livery on the GT40 truly established itself to be one of the most recognisable brands in motorsport.
Accurate and detailed, this print features unique attributes of the original car, but given a stylised and contemporary graphic treatment to look distinct and stylish on your wall.
Lithographically printed, onto thick 250gsm offset paper stock and hand finished for vibrant and accurate colour reproduction. The image dimensions are 50cm x 70cm .
